According to an online publication specialized in coworking trends in Berlin, there are currently more than 1,300 dedicated coworking spaces around the globe. The reports are showing a 88% growth compared to last year and the numbers are doubling annually. On top of that, 36% of all coworking space operators are planning to open another new location in the coming year. At the moment, the US still has the most coworking spaces in the world, with Germany coming in second. It’s no wonder that the new generation of youth are triggered to start up their own businesses. Today in Hong Kong, there are nearly 20% of youth who are currently operating their own business or plan to start up their own company within the next few years based on the recent studies conducted by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups this year.
Here at the Hive, we believe our coworking space is more than just mixed companies working in the same office. There’s no doubt that members love our concierge services, fast & reliable internet, safe storage, printing usage, and free coffee & tea – but we also represent a place that connects people which evidently shows in our networking events, workshops, and Thursday drinks where members take the opportunity to meet one another. We constantly change the way we do things, depending on the needs of our members. This is one of the reasons why our floorplan for the soon-to-open third floor has changed to private offices to satisfy the demand.
The Hive is not just about the space, but is also about the members who work in it and we will continue to work hard in making the Hive a great workplace and community.
